Why Entrepreneurship is Getting Harder and Why You Must Adapt.

Yesterday morning, while going through my morning ritual, I was scrolling on Instagram to see what was going on and what other people were doing. People were sharing empowering quotes, beautiful scenic views, and selfies.

Then, it had me thinking of the power we have at our fingertips! With one tap of your finger, your message has potential to reach millions of people to promote themselves and their lives. Social media has become a powerful tool that is accessible to the masses, especially to new entrepreneurs.

It is obvious that social media is a great way to promote your business. It opens many doors of opportunity. As we’ve seen, people do it all the time! You’re scrolling down your feed, and an ad catches your attention. You continue scrolling; then, there’s another! We either like the ad we see, or we find it the most annoying. We all probably experience the latter more often than not.

The digital landscape is filled with businesses and entrepreneurs promoting themselves. They do it all the time.

So how do you promote your business while maintaining a good reputation on social and still get clients for yourself?

Put plainly, share your story, your message, and your results; that means getting testimonials and case studies, etc. Be transparent of your journey, where you’ve been, and how you achieved results for yourself. The current trend in the business world is transparency and honesty. A lot more people are gravitating toward it.

If you’re new to entrepreneurship, how do you share results when you don’t have any? How do get clients with no results?

Start by doing free work, in the beginning, so you have results to share to get paid clients later.

Try this. On Facebook, post a status stating a claim.

For example, “Hey, everyone! I am learning [enter skill] and building my portfolio, and I was wondering if anyone needs [skill] for their business. Free of charge. PM if you’re interested!”

Said another way, “Hey, everyone! I am starting [enter business/skill], so I am doing some work businesses for free in exchange for a testimonial of my work!”

You can say it a number of ways! Do what makes you feel more comfortable in your expression. Be as authentic as possible.
